Sports Concussion Education Training
All middle and high school student athletes and their parent/guardian are required to complete an annual Concussion Training according to Prince William County Public School Policy 759. As there are sufficient differences in the way concussions will be handled at the middle school and high school levels, a parent having children in both middle and high schools are required to attend both a middle and a high school presentation. Students and their parent/guardian have two ways to receive this concussion training.
1.) Face to Face Training:
High school parents and students who are entering 9th grade and trying out for a sport for their first time in high school or are new to Prince William County Public schools must attend a face to face concussion training at their respective school. If you are unable to attend a scheduled Face-to-Face Concussion Training, the parent and student have the option to complete an online presentation for the first time participant as a high school student. Woodbridge HS will be hosting meetings on the dates shown below, at 7pm in the school's auditorium. Meetings at other PWCS high schools can be found at this link.
June 8, 2016  July 26, 2016  August 24, 2016  November 9, 2016  February 15, 2017

2. Online training for returning high school students (those who have attended a HS face to face training) will be available after July 1, 2016. The parent and student are to complete the training together if completing either of the online training.  A completion certificate is printed out, signed by the parent, and turned in to the athletic trainer (or secretary at school). Start the online training.

Course Selections for 2016-2017
The counselors have finished individual course selection meetings with students for the 2016-2017 school year. Course selection verification letters will be mailed home to rising 9th grade students and parents/guardians and handed to current WSHS students during the week of May 16th. Please take this opportunity to finalize course requests or make adjustments as needed. While the deadline to submit course request changes for the 2016-2017 school year is Friday, June 17, 2016, students and parents/guardians are reminded that decisions regarding the closing or cancellation of classes for next year may be made prior to that date based on student interest, budget, and staffing.
